"Girl in the Mirror is a book that could become a girl’s best friend. Using simple exercises and clear prose, it teaches girls how to escape the traps and challenges in their lives, find their inner strength and fully accept themselves....

About The Author

Spiritual journeys are not rare quests reserved for adults only. Or so says Denise Crittendon. She feels spiritual growth can occur at any time, especially when you’re very young, eager and willing to change.

A journalist and lecturer who conducts workshops for young women and girls, Ms. Crittendon considers Girl in the Mirror a manual for soul development and self improvement. A Detroit resident, she writes a monthly self-help column for The Detroit News. She is also the editor of African American Parent Magazine, a Michigan-based publication that focuses on the concerns of the African American parent and recognizes the challenges facing African American youth.
